I have a house and a job!

Happy Hanukkah!

Hey everyone who reads this. I've got great news. There is a wedding in Canada, and the guy who was coming in January to take Julien's room won't be coming. This means that on Thursday I can move from the living room into my very own sweet bedroom - fully equipped with all the necessary furniture and plenty of new reading material left behind by Jules. This will be my first house since I've moved out of 72 Timber Cove. Its a great place and my housemates, two Canadian brothers, Jude and Lucas are totally cool and happy to have me. The pluses: I don't have to continue to look for a place which had proved pretty difficult, the rent is cheap, the place is classy. The deltas: its in suburbia (so im entering the working and commuting class, 25 min train into the city). Truthfully, I'm getting old and I enjoy the quiet, suburbian lifestyle.

I'm becoming an expert at trains, trams and buses, and spend half my time running to catch them. Public transportation has proved to be more a part of my life in Europe, then my good 'ole Buick ever was for me in Burlington.

Last weekend I visited Czeske Krumlov, a quaint town in southern Czech Republic. It's a beautiful little city. We roadtripped down for the day and drove back in the pouring rain.

I worked my first full week in over a month at Bead School, an english language preschool for cute, fun, but sometimes annoyingish, Czech children. I am planning to be with them full time for the duration of my stay. Lucas got me the job. The downside is that after Tuesday, I'm on vacation again until January 2, and funds are running low (don't expect much for Christmas).

The goodside is I'm on vacation again and don't have the pressures of finding work or a place to live. Most of the people I know are leaving for the holidays but I've met a few poeple who are staying so I think we will become good friends over the break by default. I'll have the house to myself for a week but I plan on spending most nights in the city, since the people who are staying have empty beds in their flats.

I don't get internet at my place so I won't be able to email very consistently. Here is my address:

Emily Tully
Sedmikras Kova 575/2
Kolovraty
Praha 10300
Czech Republic

Phone Number: +420 775 285 662

I plan on getting new pictures up soon. No snow yet, just like the rest of the world. It's pretty here though with all the Christmas stuff around. I'll be in touch some way or another and hope everyone is getting their shopping done.

Happy holidays!

A quick update...

Prague is beautiful.

I'm staying with my friend Julien and can stay there until I find a place to live. Im going to be looking for a place with a guy I met, who seems pretty cool. Its like there is this small city english speakers within the big city of one million. People are helping me find jobs and an apartment. Its great. I feel very fortunate as has been the theme of my trip.

My new phone number is +420 775 285 662. This is my first phone to call my own since I've left home. Feel free to give it a ring. I'll write more soon, Im meeting my friend for dinner.
